These standards are not a driver employment or independent-contractor agreement. They do not decide worker classification, compensation, benefits, expenses, insurance responsibility, tax status, or authority. No driver may accept a delivery until the correct legal relationship and a separate written agreement are in place.
The delivery safety sequence
Use this sequence alongside the detailed rules below. Immediate safety and applicable law always come before an app instruction.
Before accepting
Confirm the approved vehicle, cargo fit, route facts, timing, and disclosed pay.
During delivery
Stop safely before using the app, protect custody, and record only truthful required proof.
If something goes wrong
Address immediate danger first, keep custody when safe, then report the incident through the documented channel.
1. Eligibility before taking an order
An authorized driver must:
- meet the legally required age, identity, work-authorization, licensing, driving-record, screening, and training requirements;
- use only an approved, registered, roadworthy, clean, inspected where required, and appropriately sized vehicle;
- provide proof that the vehicle's policy covers the assigned delivery/business use, or proof of another verified Wayboro-arranged policy that expressly covers that use and period;
- be fit to drive and not impaired by alcohol, drugs, fatigue, illness, distraction, or another unsafe condition; and
- review the disclosed route, item, handling facts, pay terms, and vehicle requirements before accepting.
2. Approved vehicle and operating perimeter
A driver may use only the exact vehicle and capability class shown as active in the driver account. A sedan, hatchback, SUV, minivan, pickup, cargo van, or box truck appearing in an application or waitlist is not by itself authorization to operate it for a delivery. Operations must first open that class in the region and verify the applicable vehicle, insurance, registration, cargo, weight, licensing, carrier, and route requirements.
The light-vehicle path applies only when no rated weight, actual weight, route, cargo, trailer, or operating fact triggers a commercial-vehicle or motor-carrier requirement. For the federal interstate 10,001-pound test, the relevant value is the greatest of the manufacturer gross vehicle or combination weight rating (GVWR or GCWR) and the actual gross vehicle or combination weight (GVW or GCW). That threshold is not itself the general 26,001-pound CDL threshold, and New York or another jurisdiction may apply additional registration, marking, medical, inspection, insurance, or operating rules.
A vehicle or combination that meets a regulated threshold, a box truck, an interstate property route, or another regulated operation requires a separate verified commercial program before activation. Depending on the actual operation, that review may require a USDOT number, motor-carrier authority, commercial insurance, medical qualification, hours-of-service controls, vehicle inspections, tax or registration credentials, and an appropriately classed license.
The separate written driver agreement must identify whether Wayboro, the driver's independent delivery business, or another authorized entity is the carrier for the approved route. The app must not treat an equipment checkbox, cargo measurement, payload entry, or manual application approval as a substitute for this legal and insurance review.
Vehicle class is not regulatory clearance
The class shown in Wayboro describes cargo fit. Payload capacity, cargo length, a registration upload, or a checked equipment option does not establish GVWR, GCWR, carrier authority, insurance scope, or route legality. Operations must verify the real vehicle and operation before enabling work; when the required evidence is not approved, the class stays closed or the application stays off the marketplace.
Reference the current federal CMV definition, New York carrier registration guidance, and the written operating analysis approved for the actual service.
3. Safe and lawful driving
- Obey traffic, parking, vehicle, hours, seat-belt, device-use, and commercial transportation rules.
- Do not type, photograph, or operate the app while the vehicle is moving. Stop legally before interacting with a device.
- Select a safe lawful route and do not follow an app instruction that is unsafe, closed, restricted, or illegal.
- Secure cargo against movement, impact, weather, theft, and contact with passengers, animals, contaminants, smoke, or unrelated goods.
- Do not bring a child, unauthorized passenger, animal, weapon, or unrelated cargo on a Wayboro delivery.
4. Pickup and custody
- Confirm the order number, location, item count, visible condition, size, and safe fit before taking custody.
- Do not accept a prohibited, leaking, unsafe, materially misdescribed, unprepared, oversized, or unsecured item. Move to a safe place and contact operations.
- Request inspection only when reasonably needed and authorized. Do not search property, copy documents, or handle contents unnecessarily.
- Capture truthful pickup proof without unrelated people, private papers, payment data, or unnecessary surroundings.
- Never mark pickup complete before possession and required proof are actually obtained.
5. Delivery and proof
- Follow lawful delivery instructions and release the item only at the correct location to the named sender or recipient, or to another person that contact authorizes. The current Wayboro workflow does not support an unattended drop-off.
- Do not enter a residence or restricted area, move unrelated property, assemble or install an item, or leave it in an unsafe or unapproved place.
- Never ask for a recipient’s password, payment-card number, unrelated ID, or information not required by the approved proof process.
- At pickup, record a clear handoff photo and the real name of the person handing over the item. At delivery or return, record a clear handoff photo and the real name of the person receiving it. For a PIN-protected delivery, obtain and enter the recipient's six-digit Wayboro delivery PIN only after the item and recipient are present; do not accept a code relayed by support, phone, email, or text. Notes are optional and must be factual. Never fabricate proof, location, time, status, or an incident.
- If delivery fails, keep custody, contact operations, and follow an authorized return or safety instruction. Do not abandon, keep, sell, transfer, or independently dispose of the item.
Arrival confirmation is a proximity check
The server accepts arrival only from a browser location captured no more than 30 seconds ago, with reported accuracy of 100 meters or better. The device must be within 150 meters of the verified stop coordinate, plus the reported accuracy allowance, so the maximum accepted radius is 250 meters.
What it proves
A fresh device reading was near the stored stop coordinate when the action was submitted.
What it does not prove
Safe parking, the correct doorway, custody, or a completed handoff. Those facts still require the separate proof workflow.
If the coordinate is wrong
Do not spoof a position or record a false handoff. Keep custody when safe, use Report an issue, and contact operations before changing the order status.
6. Privacy and confidentiality
Use names, telephone numbers, addresses, access instructions, tracking information, photos, and business information only to perform the assigned delivery. Do not screenshot, post, sell, retain, or contact a participant afterward except for an authorized delivery, safety, claim, or legal purpose. Report a lost device, exposed tracking link, mistaken disclosure, or unauthorized access immediately.
7. Respect and non-discrimination
Treat senders, recipients, staff, other drivers, and the public professionally. Harassment, threats, violence, retaliation, theft, fraud, solicitation, sexual misconduct, discriminatory refusal or treatment, and abusive language are prohibited. A driver may always leave an unsafe situation and seek help; safety reporting must not be used as a pretext for unlawful discrimination.
8. Incidents and cooperation
Report a crash, injury, citation, vehicle failure, cargo loss or damage, prohibited item, threat, privacy incident, delay, or custody problem promptly after addressing immediate safety and legal duties. Preserve evidence, provide truthful information, and cooperate with authorized claims, insurance, safety, and regulatory processes.
9. Enforcement and review
Wayboro may pause new-order marketplace access during an immediate safety, fraud, privacy, or legal review. A marketplace access pause does not by itself cancel an active delivery or change that order’s status; any order-specific release, cancellation, or return follows its own recorded workflow. Any warning, restriction, discipline, deactivation, appeal, pay treatment, and final action must follow the driver’s separate agreement, correct worker classification, and applicable law. These standards do not authorize withholding earned pay or retaliation for protected activity.
Ignoring or declining an offer before acceptance has no negative account effect. Customer ratings, completion statistics, and releases after acceptance can identify facts for human review, but they do not create an automatic restriction. Safety concerns, package mismatch, and an eligible early release of a future reservation are recorded separately from avoidable reliability releases.
What the current system actually pauses
Readiness checks, an operations restriction, and an active-delivery report are different records with different effects. The workspace does not treat one as a substitute for another.
Account readiness
A linked, approved driver application, active account, assigned region, current license, eligible vehicle credentials, completed payout setup, and current document acknowledgments are all required before going online. An admin-created or older profile without its approved application record is not approval evidence and stays offline in hosted use. A missing prerequisite is not a disciplinary finding.
Access restriction
A current restriction records a specific reason and timing, switches the driver offline, and blocks new offers and acceptance. It does not erase completed deliveries, earnings, or an active order that still needs a separate safe resolution.
Delivery report
Report an issue creates or updates an order-linked operations case and prioritizes safety categories. It does not call emergency services, release the assignment, or advance, return, or complete the order.
How current quality signals work
- Completion is completed deliveries divided by completed deliveries plus avoidable post-accept releases. It is not calculated from passive offer views or pre-accept declines.
- A release pattern becomes a human-review signal only after at least five accepted orders, at least three avoidable releases, and an avoidable release rate of 30% or more. The signal does not restrict an account by itself.
- Safety and package-mismatch releases, plus an eligible early release of a future reservation, are excluded from the avoidable-release count. Repeated protected releases can prompt order-level follow-up, but are not labeled reliability violations.
- A customer-rating signal appears for operations only after at least five ratings and an average below 3.0. No customer rating or aggregate score automatically changes marketplace access.
Scheduled reservation boundaries
- Offers appear no earlier than 24 hours before pickup, and an account can hold at most 2 future reservations. Conflicting windows and insufficient travel time are blocked before acceptance.
- Check-in opens 30 minutes before pickup and closes 15 minutes before pickup. Missing that deadline returns the delivery to the marketplace and counts as an avoidable post-accept release.
- A schedule release at least 2 hours before pickup does not affect reliability. A later schedule release does; a truthful safety or package-mismatch release stays separately protected.
How an access pause is reviewed
The driver workspace keeps the access decision separate from earnings and completed-delivery records. A pause is not described as a final deactivation unless the governing agreement and applicable process make that decision.
Specific notice
The workspace shows the recorded reason, start time, and scheduled end when one exists.
One saved review
The driver can add the facts operations should reconsider. Duplicate submissions do not create competing cases.
Written outcome
Operations must address the submitted context and record why access remains paused or is restored.
The current review form accepts one 20–1,000 character text statement for that restriction and does not accept attachments. Identify the relevant date or order reference, the recorded fact that is incomplete or wrong, and the existing account or order record operations should verify. Do not paste passwords, SSNs, payment details, private tracking links, or identity documents. Submit license, registration, or insurance renewals through the protected Account workflow. If other evidence is needed, operations must provide an approved secure method; do not email identity or financial documents. The review request does not restore access while a decision is pending. If a time-limited pause reaches its scheduled end first, marketplace eligibility is restored by that boundary, but the saved review remains in the operations queue until a written outcome is recorded. A generic pause-removal action cannot silently replace that decision.
Report and get help
- Immediate danger or a crash: move to safety when possible and contact 911 or the appropriate emergency authority before using the app.
- Active delivery issue: use Report an issue in the driver workspace so the order and status are attached to the operations case.
- Marketplace access pause: use Request review beside the decision in the driver workspace so the reason, submitted context, and written outcome stay in one account record.
- Unable to access the workspace: email [email protected]. Include the order reference when available, but never email an SSN, full license number, password, or payment-card data.
Questions about an order? Open your private tracking link or email [email protected]. If email is needed, identify the delivery with its public WB- order number and nonsecret shipment facts—never paste the private tracking link or token.
